L 26-28 cm, WS 47-53 cm.
It is a small dove with brown-red upperparts. Darker underwings and shorter tail distinguish it from Collared Dove. It has no black collar but two black and white neck patches and blackish fan-shaped tail.

 

Habitat:Turtle Dove occurs in open woodland, scrub, farmland, large gardens and parks. It nests on bushes and trees and feeds on seeds, fruits, plant and mushrooms.
