L 24-27 cm, WS 60-65 cm. In flight it shows white rump, black forked tail and chestnut underwing. Its throat and upper-breast is paler, bordered black. Its bill is black with red base.

Habitat:Collared Pratincole occurs in open steppes, bare freshwater margins. It breeds colonially on ground and feeds on insects and larvae.
