L 36-38 cm, WS 70-80 cm.
The only black waterfowl with white forehead and bill. Its legs
are green and toes are lobed.

Habitat:It occurs in freshwater, vegetated lakes and also estuaries. Coots nest in reedbeds and feed on plants, seeds, insects, larvae and worms.
