L 22-23 cm, WS 34-38 cm.
It has white cheeks, pale pink vent and flanks. Juvenile has red breast and its flanks are always barred.

Habitat:Syrian Woodpecker is common in woodlands, parks, gardens. It nests in a hole which is excavated in tree.
