L 30-32 cm, WS 66-73 cm. A slim-bodied bird has big, rounded wings and long, thin tail. Juvenile has pale and more turquoise plumage. It shows a bright blue wing patch in flight.

Habitat:Rollers occur in open woodland, open country with large trees. It nests in hole in tree, rocks or building. Feeds on beetles and other insects, worms, small frogs.
