L 90-98 cm, WS 150-175 cm.
It looks huge in flight. It is mainly grey. Flight is slow and heavy. The outer half of black wings is very rounded and its head pointed upwards. Head and neck is white.

Habitat:Marshes, shallow fresh or coastal waters. It feeds on fish, frogs, reptiles and mollusks. Grey Heron nests in colonies in trees and in reedbeds.
