L 16-17 cm, WS 42-48 cm.
It distinguished from swallows and martins by long curved
wings. It has short tail and all-dark plumage. Its throat is
whitish.

Habitat:Swifts nest in holes and cliffs or buildings. It feeds over freshwater, open country and built-up areas and feeds on insects.
