L 51-62 cm, WS 81-98 cm.
The largest dabbling duck. Drake has green head, narrow white collar and dark brown breast. Its bill is always yellow and speculum is blue.

Habitat: Mallards breed on most types of freshwater. It feeds on seeds, fruits, insects and other small aquatic animals. Nest is usually concealed on ground, sometimes up trees, on top of buildings.
