Verbena officinalis(VERVAIN) (Tıbbı mine çiçeği) (Eisenkraut) Verbenaceae Annual or perennial herbs. Stem stiffly erect, up to 100 cm. Leaves opposite; median leaves lanceolate or lanceolate-oblong, pinnatifid with irregular, entire or dentate lobes. Inflorescence a spike, elongating in fruit. Calyx cylindrical, up to 2,5 mm. Corolla infundibular, pale lilac with yellowish throat, up to 5 mm. Nutlets, sharply reticulate above. Fl. June-August. Ruderal, disturbed ground. rocky slopes, dry river beds, banks, walls, sand dunes, wood and scrub, etc., s.l. Temperate and subtropical Eurasia eastward to China; N. Africa; as an adventive almost cosmopolitan except in the coldest areas. |
