Rhizomatous perennial herbs or subshrubs. Stem erect, much-branched, up to 240 cm. Leaves opposite but uppermost sometimes alternate, narrowly ovate and oblong-lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, up to 7 x 2,5 cm. Inflorescence loose, usually much-branched, many-flowered. Calyx up to 2 mm. Corolla pink, cylindrical or infundibular, up to 7 mm. Fruit a follicles, up to 12 cm. Potential ornamental. Fl. June-August. Maritime sands, river banks, in riverside gravel, s.l.

Türkiye, Black Sea coast of Balkans, S.Russia, Transcaucasia, Iran, Cyprus.
