Suffruticose aromatic perennial herbs. Stems procumbent to erect, with white, grey lanuginose-tomentose or crisped indumentum. Leaves opposite, oblong to narrowly obovate or linear. Flowers born in globose heads, very short pedicellate. Calyx tubular-obconical. Petals united, white, up to 5 mm. Fruit dry nutlets. Stem and leaves medicinal. Fl. June-September. Dry places, Quercus scrub, rocky slopes, steppe, dunes, fields margins etc., s.l.

Mediterranean area.
