Serapias vomeracea subsp.laxiflora(Sığırkulağı, Katırtırnağı) (Pflugschar-Zungenstendel) Orchidaceae Tuberous perennial herbs. Stem erect, up to 40 cm. Leaves lanceolate, often curved outwards. Inflorescence an elongate spike, up to 20 cm. Bracts much longer than flowers. Sepal greyish-purple. Petals pale purplish, bluish or greyish-violet, up to 30 mm. Labellum divided by lateral incision into basal half (Hypochile) and distal half (epichile). Fruit a capsule. Leaves edible. Potential ornamental. Fl. March-May. Dry or wet grassy places, phrygana, macchie, roadsides, ruins, mainly on calcareous or schistose soil.. Türkiye, Greece, Aegean, Cyprus. |
