Rhizomatous perennial. Stem erect, branched at least above. Leaves alternate, oblong-lanceolate, up to 6 x 1,5 cm, cordate-auriculate at base. Capitula several or numerous in corymb. Involucre up to 1,5 cm broad; phyllaries 4-5-seriate. Ray flowers numerous; ligules yellow, up to 7 mm. Disc corollas up to 3,5 mm. Achenes oblong. Pappus double. Fl. July-September. Stream and river banks, often near the coast, s.l.

Türkiye, Europe (Britain to C. Russia), N. Africa.
