Annual herbs. Stem branched, ascending, up to 15 cm. Leaves borne mostly near the base of the stems,
2-pinnate, the ultimate segments narrow, pinnatifid or dentate. Inflorescence an umbel. Petals free, white, small. Fruit strongly compressed, with prominent spines on the secondary ridges. Fl. March-June.
Sand dunes and sandy fields by the sea.
