Acaulescent perennial herbs, with a several leaf-rosette. Leaves elliptic-ovate to rounded ovate; petiole often equalling lamina. Scapes up to 30 cm. Spike, narrowly cylindrical, up to 40 cm. Sepals green up to 2.5 mm. Petals united; tube glabrous, up to 3 mm. Fruit an ovoid-conical capsule. Fl. June-August. Stream and riversides, ditches, pathsides, amble land, pasture, waste places, s.l.
