Erect to spreading, shrubs, up to 130 cm. Leaves opposite, shortly stellate-hairy, lower leaves ovate to lanceolate, up to 8 x 3 cm. Floral leaves lanceolate to linear-lanceolate. Verticillasters 1-2, up to 28-flowered. Calyx tubular or narrowly campanulate, up to 18 mm. Petals united, yellow, up to 30 mm. Fruit dry nutlets. Leaves are used as tea. Potential ornamental. Fl. May-July. Pinus brutia wood, macc/iie, rocky limestone slopes, s.l.
