Bolbous perennial herbs. Scape evident, up to 20 cm. Leaves usually 3-6, 10-20 mm wide, shorter than scape, flat, tapering from the base to a pointed apex, borne in a spreading rosette. Raceme corymbose with to 14-flowered. Perianth segment white inside, white with a green fascia outside, up to 16 mm. Fruit an unwinged capsule. Young leaves are used as vegetable. Fl. March-May. Scrub, hillsides, meadows, s.l.
