Mentha longifolia subsp.typhoides var.typhoides (Yarpız, Narpuz, Tüylü nane. it nanesi) (Rars -Minze) Labiatae (Lamiaceae) Rhizomatous perennial herbs. Stem erect, up to 120 cm. Leaves opposite, oblong-elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, up to 90 x 32 mm. Verticillasters many, congested, forming a terminal often much branched spike. Calyx tubular or campanulate. Petals united, lilac or white, up to 8 mm. Fruit dry nutlets. Leaves are used as culinary. Fl. July-October. Marshy fields, by streams and rivers. Turkiye, Aegean, Cyprus, Lebanon, N. W. Iran, N.
