Low creeping, prostrate, woolly-canescent perennial herbs. Leaves
alternate, pinnately trifoliolate; leaflets obovate-cuneate. Sepals teeeth longer than tube. Petals free, bright yellow, up to 8 mm. Fruit discoid or cylindrical, usually with short and thin spines, sometimes nearly spineless, villosulous. Fl. February-June. Coastal sands, rarely on shingle or sea cliffs, nr.s.l.
