Juncus maritimus (SEA RUSH) (Hasırotu, Kofa) (Meerstrand-Binse) Juncaceae Rhizomatous, densely tufted perennials. Stems erect, stiff and ridged, up to 100 cm. Leaves 2- 4, almost basal, generally shorter than the stem. Inflorescence many-flowered usually lax. Flowers greenish or pale yellowish-brown. Outer perianth segments ovate, acute; inner shorter, narrowly elliptic. Fruit an ovoid-trigonous capsule. Fl. May-July. Saltrnarshes and saline meadows, edge of saline crater lake, rarely other damp ground, s.l. W. & C. Europe, Mediterranean and Black Sea areas, Iran, Turkestan. |
