Viscid subshrubs. Stem erect, up to 1 m or more. Leaves alternate, lanceolate or oblanceolate, up to 9 x 1,5 cm. Capitula numerous, radiate, borne in panicles or loose racemes. Involucre up to 1 cm broad; phyllaries 4-5-seriate. Ray flowers c. 10, ligules up to 6 x 1,5 mm. Disc flower up to 6,5 mm. Achenes constricted at apex. Pappus brownish, scabrous. Potential ornamental. Fl. May-November. Hillsides, waste ground and marshy areas, S.I.

Mediterranean area, extending from Canary Island to Jordan.
