Biennial or perennial herbs. Stem papillose to glabrous, up to 50 cm.
Leaves oblong, wavy pinnately lobed; the upper clasping the branched stem. Sepals crisply pilose. Petals free, usually yellow, up to 75 mm. Ovary densely papillose-tuberculate. Siliquae 15-25 cm, straight or arcuate. Fl. May-July. Maritime, usually near s,l. though penetrating inland in river valleys.

Türkiye, Europe, N.W. Africa, W. Caucasia.
