Evergreen shrubs. Stem erect, up to 4 m. Leaves usually whorls, - acicular, up to 7 x 0,8 mm. Inflorescence raceme-like panicles, on very short lateral shoots, 1 -5-flowered. Sepals free, up to 1,3 mm. Corolla campanulate, pink or white. Fruit a loculicidal capsule, enclosed by persitent corolla. Seeds ovoid. Leaves medicinal. Flowers rich in nectars. Potential ornamental. Fl. July-November. Open places, macchie, under Pinus brutia, limestone, serpentine and schistose rocks, s.l
