Biennial herbs. Stem erect, up to 80 cm. Leaves alternate, linear-oblong to linear-lanceolate, up to 20 cm.
Inflorescence a cymes. Calyx villous, up to 8 mm. Corolla cylindrical to infundibular, dark maaron to deep pink, up to 6,5 mm. Nutlets immarginate, up to 6 mm. diameter. Fl. April-August. Quercus and Juniperus scrub, steppe, rocky slopes, meadows, banks.
S. Europe, S. W. Asia eastward to N. &. N. W. Iran.
