Cynodon dactylon var.dactylon(BERMUDA CRASS) (Domuz ayrığı) (Finger-Hundszahn) Gramineae (Poaceae) Patch forming rhizomatous perennial herbs. Flowering stems erect to ascending, up to 30 cm. Leaves alternate; leaf blades linear-lanceolate, to 6 cm. Inflorescence terminal, consisting 3-6 finger-like spikes arising from the same point on the stem. Spikelets pale green or suffused purple, very short pedicellate. Glumes linear-lanceolate. Lemma ovate-lanceolate, up to 2,5 mm. Fruit a cylindrical-ellipsoid caryopsis. Fl. April-September. Dry stony hill slopes, mar streams, freshwater marsh and sand dimes by sea, steppe, dry fallow fields, waste places, roadsides, s.l. Native of Tropical Africa. |
