Annual or rarerly perennial herbs. Stem prostrate, ascending or erect, up to 60 cm or more. Basal leaves elliptic to obovate, pinnatifid to pinnate; cauline leaves auriculate; upper usually much reduced. Capitula few -to many- flowered. Involucre cylindrical; phyllaries 2-pluriseriate. Ligules yellow, up to 15 mm. Achenes pale or mid-brown, inner almost always beaked. Pappus white, scabrous, exserted from involucre. Fl. May-October. Macchie, rocks, sand dunes, fields and Pinus woodland, s.l.
