Annual herbs. Stem erect, branched, up to 70 cm. Leaves alternate,
2-3-pinnatisect, obovate outline; lower up to 7 cm; upper smaller, becoming 1 -pinnatisect. Capitula heterogamous, radiate, solitary at branch ends. Involucre hemispherical; phyllaries 3-4- seriate. Ray flowers 12-15; ligules sulphur-yellow, cream or white. Achenes oblong. Pappus absent. Young stem an leaves edible. Potential ornamental. Fl. April-June. Bankss, roadsides and fields near the sea, s.l.
