Annual herbs. Stem erect, branched, up to 1,5 m. Leaves opposite, pinnatisect, upper ones with narrower segments. Capitula globose. Involucral bracts ovate; receptacular bracks ovate to lanceolate, acuminate in to short awn. Calyx cupuliform. Corolla 4-lobed; petals united at the base, white or lilac. Involucel 5 mm, quadrangular, 8-ribbed, apex 8 equal teeth. Fl. June-october. Fields, roadsides.
