Leaves opposite, ovate, oblong to lanceolate, increasing in length upwards. Inflorescence with divaricating branches. Sepals nearly equalling corolla tube. Petal united at the base, pink to purple, rarerly white. Fruit an, oblong to fusiform capsule. Fl. April-July. Marshy places, dry rocky hillsides, clearings, weed on arable land, s.l. Europe, N. Africa, Caucasus, W. &.C. Asia. |
