Deep-rooting perennial herbs. Stem very short or absent, simple or with few branches. Leaves spreading rosette, often covered shorth hairs, very variable in outline. Involucre ovoid, up to 22 x ' 6 mm. Appendage a narrow and ending with a spinule. Flowers pink.
Achenes densely hairy, up to 5 mm. Pappus barbellate to plumose. Potential ornamental. Fl. April-June. Sandy littoral plains.

Türkiye, Crete, Cyprus. Very rare, a beautiful plant.
