Carduus nutans subsp. nutans(Deve dikeni) (Distel) Compositae (Asteraceae) Biennial spiny herbs. Stem erect, sulcate, spiny-winged. Leaves alternate, pinnatilobed to deeply 2-pinnatifid, lobes with spines. Capitula usually solitary. Involucre depressed-globose, up to 5 x 8 cm. (inc. phyllary spines). Corollas purple, up to 31 mm. Achenes ovate-oblong. Pappus up to 22 mm. Fl. May-July. Mainly steppe, rocky slopes, fields and waste places. Türkiye, N. W. Africa, Europe, Caucasia, N. W. Syria; W. Iran. |
