Dichotomously branching annual herbs. Stem erect, up to 15 cm.
Leaves alternate; lower leaves spathulate; cauline leaves oblong-lanceolate, elliptic, up to 30 x 10 mm. Flowers solitary, terminal, on short peduncles. Calyx lobes linear-lanceolate: lobes an appendages accrescent after anthesis. Corolla infundibular. pale violet or violet, up to 15 mm. Capsule nodding, opening by 3 basal valves. Seeds narrowly ellipsoid, yellowish. Potential ornamental. Fl. April-June. Sandy soil, steppe, slopes, s.l.
