Spiny shrubs. Stem up to 3 m, young twigs densely villous. Leaves alternate, 3-foliolate; leaflets up to 15 mm, obovate, shortly villous beneath, glabrous above. Flowers axillary in umbellate fascicles or short ebracteate raceme. Calyx tubular with five short teeth. Flowers free, glabrous, yellow. Fruit a legume, up to 50 x 10 mm, densely villous. Potential ornamental. Fl. March-June. Macchie, on dry rocky ground, s.l.
Mediterranean area.
