Semiparasitic annual herbs. Stem erect, simple, up to 70 cm. Leaves opposite at least below. Inflorescence in a dense oblong terminal spike-like raceme. Calyx campanulate. Corolla bilabiate, white flushed pink above, white or yellow; tube up to 17 mm. Fruit an ovate-globose capsule. Fl. March-June. In phrygana, sand limestone and terra-rossa slopes, wet meadows, cornfields.

Mediterranean area, Caucasus, N. Iraq, N. & W. Iran, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Es. Africa.
