Fast-growing, prostrate, perennial, succulent herbs. Leaves opposite, petiolate, petiole 0,5-1 cm; lamina ovate-subcordate. Inflosecence apical. Sepals with fleshy, unequal lobes. Petals free, numerous, (sometimes considered to be petaloid staminodes), bright pink. Stamens numerous. Anthers yellow. Ovary inferior. Fruit fleshy. Ideal plant for garden cover. Fl. June-August. Rocks, Cliffs.

Native of South Africa, West Indies, Florida, South western North America, South America and Australia.
